Vaughn Cochran is an artist, fly fisherman, and conservationist. A native Floridian, Vaughn grew up in the art community of St. Augustine. He earned Bachelor of Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees in painting and ceramics at the University of South Florida. Vaughn is also one of the most respected fly fishing guides in the Florida Keys, and finds plenty of artistic inspiration observing nature while guiding his clients to meet the challenges of saltwater fly fishing, and sharing the camaraderie that is such a great part of the sport. His images and style reflect his love of fishing and the outdoors. For several years Vaughn fished and painted in Mexicos Yucatan Peninsula and later managed Costa Ricas most famous fishing lodge, Parismina Tarpon Rancho. Recently Vaughn spent a year in Belize, Central America as fishing manager at Turneffe Island Lodge and continues to direct fishing operations while promoting the lodge at trade and fishing shows throughout the United States. In between his duties at the lodge and attending shows, Vaughn guides out of the Lower Keys and Key West. His love of fishing has also landed him the opportunity to be the featured co-host and guide for several episodes of ESPNs morning line up of fishing shows, including Fly Fishing America, Fly Fishing the World, North American Fisherman, Back Roads with Ron Shara and four episodes of Spanish Fly with Jose Wejebe in Belize.
Vaughns artwork has been shown in numerous galleries and shows in the Southeastern United States and has received many awards. His sculptures and paintings are held in private and corporate collections. Now Vaughns artwork can become a part of your t-shirt collection.
